**Receptionist /Administration Officer - Part Time**

**The Position**

At the Nan Tien Temple’s Pilgrim Lodge, the position of **Receptionist / Administrative Assistant** provides administrative support to ensure efficient and smooth operation of the Pilgrim Lodge.

The Pilgrim Lodge is a truly unique, 100 room accommodation facility in Wollongong, set amongst the tranquillity of the Nan Tien Temple grounds, site of the largest Buddhist Temple in the Southern Hemisphere.

We are looking for a kind, experienced, and bilingual (English and Chinese) receptionist and administration officer to join our team.

**Position responsibilities include**:

- Manage bookings, answer and return calls, respond to enquiries, manage invoicing and payments.
- Work autonomously and within a team environment, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing workload priorities.
- Data entry and data management within the system.
- Complete check-in and check-out procedures for visiting guests.
- Generate invoices and processing payments accurately.
- Follow the safety procedures and controlling access through monitoring the reception logbook and managing visitors.
- Work professionally with temple staff and coordinate with the maintenance and security teams.
- Liaise with all levels of stakeholders such as government agencies.
- Update and correct financial records including incomes and expenses.
- Undertake clerical duties such as revenue and event reporting.
- Participate with other staff in managing the lodge in adherence to the lodge’s policies and procedures.
- Assist marketing and public relation activities to promote the lodge.

**Selection criteria**:

- Strong Customer Service skills and experience
- Permanent resident or have working permit to work in Australia.
- Flexible working hours (morning shifts & afternoon shifts).
- Experience making decisions and working autonomously while completing accurate work to a deadline.
- Strong computer literacy, confident with Microsoft Office Suite and learning new systems
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and Chinese (_Mandarin_).
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
- Problem-solving skills including a friendly phone manner, answering inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services, and resolving guests’ complains.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive information.
- Previous experience working in an admin or reception role.

**Desirable**:

- Have some basic understanding of the Buddhism and Buddhist etiquette.
- Have a qualification in hotel management or hand-on experience in hotel management

If you were successful in the interview, we could offer an opportunity for you to try this role for two weeks; Afterwards, we could offer you a part time position with 3-month probation.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 21-28 per week

**Salary**: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
