**About the Agency**
The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) is the lead agency for the Government's policy on sport and active recreation. ORSR is responsible for State Government policy and legislation as it relates to the sector, its key programs, sport and recreation infrastructure and funding programs. The ORSR supports sport and recreation organisations, Councils and the community through the development of policy, programs and resources, the provision of funding, recreation and sport planning, infrastructure development, elite sport pathways and programs, and the promotion of physical activity.

**The South Australian Sports Institute** (SASI) provides specialist high performance sport services and talent identification programs to support South Australian athletes and sports to achieve national and international success. SASI delivers leading edge scientific and technical support and supports the holistic development of athletes, coaches and staff. SASI supports six National Centre's of Excellence where the focus is on maximising the podium potential of senior national athletes. SASI also delivers seven sport programs where the development of talented high performance athletes is the primary focus.

**Role Details**
The Physical Preparation Coach assists the development of talented high performance athletes and elite athletes by providing expert support and technical services to South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) sport Programs. The key area of support is providing strength and conditioning (S&C) coaching to improve athlete performance. Physical Preparation Coaches are selected from a casual pool to be engaged on an as needs basis to assist in the delivery of high performance sport programs. The role reports to the Head of Physical Preparation, and takes day to day direction and instructions from the staff member responsible for their field of expertise. SASI is committed to diversity within its High Performance environment and as such will place emphasis on recruiting to increase its diversity within the Physical Preparation cohort.

**Special Conditions**
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
- This role requires a working with children check.
- This role is for up to 10 hours per week.

**Essential Criteria**:

- An undergraduate degree in Sport Science.
- Level 2 Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) Coaching Accreditation
- Current member of ASCA Pro Structure
- Senior First Aid Certificate or equivalent.

**Classification**
GSE2 - Government Services Employee

**Salary Range**
Hourly Rate of $34.92
