We are seeking a counsellor to enrich our students’ personal and social development and support their mental health and wellbeing. This role is primarily performed during school term time, with additional days during non-term time as scheduled or required due to particular circumstances.

The School Counsellor will provide counselling, wellbeing support, referrals and advisory information to students from ELC to Year 12. In particular, this role is responsible for:

- Providing counselling to students perceived as vulnerable or at risk;
- Acting as the liaison between the student, school and external specialists in the area of health and wellbeing;
- Providing advice to colleagues and parents in supporting students in their personal development, mental health and wellbeing;
- Working with the Wellbeing Team to devise and administer a comprehensive and meticulous program to oversee the welfare and pastoral needs of students;
- Supporting the development of school policy and strategic planning in the area of child safety; and
- Working with a team of Child Safety Officers to ensure compliance with Mandatory Reporting requirements.

The successful applicant will possess highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, and will be able to operate effectively both in a team and individually. A Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology with eligibility for membership of relevant professional body is also required.
