**Intensive Care Consultant**:
Commencing May 2024, 15 months.
Full Time, Fixed Term leave cover

**The Role**:
This is a Full-Time fixed term position (covering a combination of long-service leave and backfill for a philanthropically funded project) with the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is a combined cardiac and general unit. The successful applicant will join a team of 17 other Specialists offering the full range of ICU services, including some involvement in the roster for PIPER-Paediatrics (Paediatric Infant Perinatal Emergency Retrieval). They will possess excellent clinical skills in both General and Cardiac Paediatric Intensive Care; be able to lead and function as part of a PICU team and take a leadership role in collaborative interdepartmental and interdisciplinary care; play a role in development of point of care ultrasound in intensive care and in the development of collaborative interdisciplinary education.

Applicants must have qualifications in Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM) and be registered to practice medicine in Victoria. Substantial clinical experience in the management of complex Intensive Care patients including trauma and transplant recipients, as well as clinical experience with newborn and paediatric transport is essential. Demonstrated experience performing and interpreting complex congenital echocardiography is highly desirable. Substantial experience managing both paediatric and adult intensive care is also highly desirable. A demonstrated strong commitment to education, training and research is an important element of this position.
