**What you'll be doing**

The APHC Quality and Safety Coordinator is responsible for the fostering a culture within the service to identify and develop plans that impact upon quality and safety across the range of Ambulatory and Primary Health Care (APHC) services. The position is an expert resource within the area of safety and quality and will be available to staff across APHC.

Coordinate the implementation of quality and safety programs required for the service operational plan and to foster a culture that promotes innovation in key processes based upon best practice. Support the service to implement the requirements of the appropriate standards, including but not limited to the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards. Support the measurement and tracking of performance. Assist in the development and monitoring of progress against APHC business plans and local quality and safety plans. Provide support and direction to APHC staff designated clinical and quality and safety responsibilities and accreditation purposes.

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available._

**Selection Criteria**:

- Registered Nurse with a current licence to practice from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (if required) or recognised qualification in a health field and suitable experience, and a Current Class C NSW Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated understanding of integrated clinical risks, quality and safety systems and subsequent policy development.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience of the various accreditation processes used in NSW Health.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, and within a multidisciplinary team and to manage and prioritise workload with multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership and change management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the utilisation of current modalities to collect, monitor and synthesise quantitative and qualitative data from core clinical quality and patient safety systems (e.g. IIMS, IPM, eMR).
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication including ability to use Excel and other statistical software.
- Demonstrated understanding an experience in various quality activities utilised in health (e.g. SAOE, CPI, Redesign).
