**About the role**
This is a
**permanent**,
**full-time** position working
**38 hours** per week.

You may be required to work at various locations, including West Nowra, Huskisson, and Ulladulla. Additionally, you may be required to work at our seven other sites, Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Callala, Sussex Inlet, Bendalong, Lake Conjola, and Kioloa.

**Duties**
Reporting directly to the Waste Depot Supervisor, the focus of this position is to:

- Collaborate within a team to perform a variety of waste collection, acceptance, disposal, and recycling tasks that support the landfill operations of the Council. This includes diverting reusable or recyclable items away from landfills to promote sustainable waste management practices within the community.
- Work in co-operation with all team members to achieve Council’s waste operational goals.
- Perform tasks associated with various operational areas, including:
- Resource Recovery Area
- Weighbridge/gatehouse
- Buy-back Centre Operations
- Garden Organics and Bulky Waste pick-up
- Street and Park litter bin pick-ups
- Collection of waste and recycling from other Council facilities
- Perform recovery operations in several ways from manual separation, to utilising mobile plant, fixed plant, and sorting equipment in collaboration with Depot Operators.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Council’s policies and procedures.
- Participate in morning and afternoon briefs, identifying any safety-related issues or operational improvements.

**Skills & Experience**
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

- Certificate 2 in Waste Management, Civil Construction, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 12 months’ work experience in waste management, civil construction and/or maintenance activities.
- Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Current NSW general construction induction card (white card) or accepted interstate alternative or be willing to obtain.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level customer service.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to WHS principles and practices
- Ability and willingness to undertake physical manual work
- Basic computer operation skills
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship.
