Landfill Worker

Reputable Bendigo Client seeking a Landfill Operative

**Position Objective**

Assist in providing a safe, efficient and effective operation of the Eaglehawk Landfill in accordance with the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria licence.

**About The Role**
- This role requires flexibility with working days. There may be a requirement to work 9 days on, 5 days off the roster (special engagement), including weekends and public holidays.
- The ability to exercise judgement in the day-to-day organisation of tasks, with minimum supervision.
- Good customer services skills and the ability to handle difficult members of the public.
- The ability to work as a co-operative team member.
- Working knowledge of landfill operation.
- Responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the mechanical plant used in operating the landfill in accordance with EPA licence.
- Responsible for competent weighbridge and gate house operation, including handling cash.
- Provide courteous assistance and direction to the public.
- Responsible for maintaining quality standards of work performed.
- Responsible for general servicing of plant.
- Consult with Supervisors regarding staff performance and training.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Current Victorian driving licence
- Heavy Rigid (HR) endorsement is required.
- Landfill plant competence certification is required
- Heavy Combination (HC) endorsement is desirable.
- Police Record Check and Pre-employment Medical will be required for this position.
- A good level of physical ability is required.A practical skills test in the safe operation of a variety of landfill plant will be required.
