Music Tutor

The Music Academy is a growing contemporary music school which was created to provide a professional learning experience for students of all ages and abilities. We teach students from age 4 to adults, beginners to professional. We understand the importance of high quality music education, and we wouldn't be where we are today without some amazing teachers who introduced us to our own instruments. Our priority is to make lessons enjoyable and fun so that students are motivated to play and practise their instrument, not because they feel obliged to or guilty when they don't.

Teachers are able to choose their own working hours, and will be required to travel to students' homes in the Newtown area for lessons. There is also the option to host lessons in your home depending on the functionality of your space and equipment provided.

Our teachers are hired as contractors, so teaching experience (minimum two years) and organisational skills are essential. You will be required to communicate directly with students as well as organise your schedule and attendance sheets.

We are currently looking for a piano teacher and a guitar teacher. Ideally with a completed or near-completed Bachelor of Music majoring in that instrument, or can demonstrate a high level of musical education/experience.

Essential Requirements:

- Working with Children Check
- Insurance (can be discussed)
- Minimum two years teaching experience
- Ability to travel to students' homes in Newtown
- Bachelor of Music, majoring in guitar/piano
- Can teach additional instruments
- Friendly and accommodating attitude
- Experience as a performing musician

**Job Type**: Subcontract

**Salary**: Up to $90.00 per hour
