About the role

At Eastern Health (EH) our security is employed directly and are part of the EH team and are treated as such.

EH Security are supported on many levels and are well taken care of in their role. The security team takes pride in providing a safe work environment and a place for patients and visitor alike to attend and feel safe.

The role is for someone with a mature can do attitude, positive outlook, good work ethic, adaptable with the ability to deal with and deescalate confrontational situations and assist people whenever possible.

Being able to show empathy toward those that are unwell and have the patience to deal with many different kinds of people in all kinds of situations.

An above average understanding of the law would be beneficial and how it relates to the health sector.

A positive can do attitude when it comes to being given a task, a willingness to learn new tasks across various sites

Successful applicants as well as bringing your own life experiences to the role, will be open to possibly new and or different ways of working.

The role at times can be quite physical and is a hands on role, due to that physicality of the role it requires a certain level of fitness.

The role also includes conducting walking patrols and attending codes throughout the hospital which may require taking multiple flights of stairs at times, other times it could be monitoring CCTV cameras, reviewing and downloading footage and the writing of reports etc. So knowledge around computers is advantageous

About you

**To be successful in this role you will possess**:
Current Victorian Security Licence

Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience

A strong commitment to high quality care

The ability to work as part of a diverse team and autonomously

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
