**About the role**:
**Responsibilities of this role include**:

- Ensure that civil works carried out are compliant with all relevant standards
- Competently and safely operate machinery, tools and equipment to perform civil tasks;
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans and drawings;
- Ensure quality standards are maintained;
- Examine work for defects and ensure conformance with specifications;
- Log information and fulfil administrative requirements associated with your role with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner;
- Provide direction to Trade Assistants in the performance of their duties;
- Ensure all respective works comply with relevant Australian Standards, BCA, Local Ordinances and other relevant codes and standards;
- Ensure that work is organised and executed in a timely manner;
- Material, labour, plant and equipment is used as effectively and efficiently as possible;
- Participate in shift/swing hand over prior to finishing work to ensure other employees are aware of all relevant information;
- Represent Ahrens in a professional manner whenever working and/or in Ahrens uniform and/or vehicle;
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are clean and well maintained;
- Operate vehicles, plant and equipment and tools in a proper manner;
- Undertake all other reasonable tasks and duties that are peripheral to your role and within your skill and ability, as directed.

**Essential Skills & Experience**:

- 5 year minimum experience in Civil Construction or equivalent;
- Proficient in concreting (Screeding, Hand finishing) and related civil works, in residential, commercial and industrial environments, with demonstrated prior experience;
- Construction Induction (Whitecard);
- Forklift License;
- Ability to work independently under mínimal supervision;
- Class C drivers license;
- Willingness to work at other Ahrens Group locations if required.
- Holding additional high risk tickets and licenses will be beneficial.

**Beneficial Not Essential**
- Concrete Boom Pump License;
- Trowel machine experience.
