This highly desirable role can only be described as a variety-filled position with beef, lamb, and wool at the forefront. Our client, Gidleigh Pastoral Company is a family-owned mixed livestock enterprise situated in the picturesque and highly sought-after location of Bungendore, NSW. Gidleigh Station encompasses 2,800 hectares, running a self-replacing merino flock and Angus herd with 600 Angus breeders and 3,000 Merino ewes, including 500 cross-bred lambs. The primary focus of this station is backgrounding beef steers and selling lambs, alongside producing high-quality merino wool. 300 hectares of cropping is in place to target pasture improvement across the station.
- Some previous cattle and sheep experience (required)
- The ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
- Have experience using machinery such as tractors, seeders, and spray equipment and consider oneself to be mechanically minded
- The ability to confidently operate 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler motorbikes, and side-by-side vehicles
- Experience riding horses and having working dogs (essential)
- Good communication skills and the willingness to learn are also essential
- Availability to work some long hours and weekends is a must
