The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) has diverse responsibilities for transport systems and services, infrastructure planning and provision within South Australia.

**Duties**

The Supply Chain Planning Lead is crucial in ensuring the Department meets emerging freight and supply chain challenges and to support integrated transport investment strategies which deliver state-wide efficiencies and benefits.

The role will manage and lead technical and specialist multi-modal planning and feasibility analysis of major initiatives, to provide advice to the Manager, Transport Supply Chain and to inform strategies regarding the future development of the multi-modal transport system in South Australia.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Deliver high level, professional and technical expertise relating to freight and supply chain strategies, as well as broader transport initiatives.
- Provide technical and specialist input into multi-modal transport strategies through undertaking feasibility analysis/studies of future major transport asset improvements.
- Develop and deliver options analysis relating to freight logistics and supply chains in the context of the Department’s broader transport network planning and program priorities.
- Ensure studies and outputs are sound and robust and integrate with state and national government priorities and initiatives.
- Ensure outputs and outcomes are focused on stakeholder and customer needs, through effective engagement and consultation with key industry stakeholders, including freight and supply chain infrastructure owners, logistics providers, industry associations and government agencies.
- An understanding of key issues and inform and influence transport network development strategies and projects from a freight and supply chain perspective.

**Requirements**:
To be successful in this role you will need to be highly motivated, politically savvy, with strong commercial acumen and the ability to quickly establish credibility with industry stakeholders.

In addition, you will possess the following key attributes:

- Comprehensive and contemporary understanding of the issues, challenges and opportunities impacting on freight and transport supply chains.
- Ability to lead engagement and create partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders and influence decisions to achieve positive outcomes.
- Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to lead change and contribute to a culture of collaboration and success.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, including the ability to represent the Department at a range of industry, government and community forums.
- High level written communication skills including experience developing pragmatic and well-informed reports and briefings with recommendations.
- Tertiary qualifications (degree or higher) in Commerce, Logistics, Engineering, Transport Planning, or other relevant discipline.

**Special Conditions**

Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
