**THE POSITION**
We are seeking an Upper Strings Teacher (violin and viola) to deliver individual and small group lessons to primary and secondary students at both Moreton Bay College and Moreton Bay Boys’ College. This is a casual position whereby the teacher is paid directly by parents, and by the College for any other activities such as tutorials and performances. The Upper Strings Teacher is responsible to the Director of Music - The Moreton Bay Colleges and ultimately the Principal. All staff are employed by the CEO and Executive Principal of MBC and MBBC. We anticipate that there will be approximately 2 days of teaching initially.
- The Upper Strings Teacher is required to:_
- delivery high quality individual or small group lessons
- model best practice as a performing musician to MBC and MBBC students
- develop individualized programs of instruction for private students that
- are informed by best practice and contemporary developments in pedagogy
- set clear goals and work towards achieving those
- cater for individual interests and learning styles
- establish solid technical foundations for development
- foster in students the desire to be the best that they can be
- cultivate outstanding young musicians
- comply with College reporting requirements
- attend and assist with performances and other College events as required
- The Upper Strings Teacher must:_
- Be an experienced teacher of violin and viola
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Music, or other high-level applicable qualification such as an AMusA or LMusA
- Hold a Working With Children Blue Card or Exemption Card
- Being a practicing performing musician would be considered an advantage
