The CIO Group provides a range of enabling services and operations delivery to the department and to Australian businesses. The Cyber Security team within the Digital Strategy and Cyber Security Branch is seeking Security Advisory Specialists to work on an exciting engagement of work

- ** Security Consultant**: The security consultant is a key role in security advisory services. They assess an organisation's security needs, provide expertise on security best practices, and offer tailored recommendations. Security consultants conduct security risk assessments, evaluate existing security controls, and develop security strategies aligned with business objectives.
- ** Security Architect**: The security architect designs and develops the overall security architecture for organisations. They work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, assess risks, and propose appropriate security solutions. Security architects ensure that security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption mechanisms, are effectively integrated into the organisation's infrastructure.
- ** Compliance Advisor**: The compliance advisor specialises in regulatory compliance within the cybersecurity domain. They stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards and guide organisations to ensure compliance. Compliance advisors assist in interpreting and implementing security requirements from frameworks such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
- ** Incident Response Consultant**: The incident response consultant provides expertise in handling and responding to cybersecurity incidents. They help organisations develop incident response plans, establish incident management processes, and conduct post-incident analysis. Incident response consultants may also assist in coordinating response activities during actual incidents, ensuring effective containment and remediation.
- ** Security Governance Specialist**: The security governance specialist focuses on establishing and maintaining effective security governance frameworks within organisations. They help define security policies, standards, and procedures that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Security governance specialists ensure that security initiatives are integrated into the organisation's overall governance structure.
- ** Threat Intelligence Analyst**: The threat intelligence analyst monitors and analyses emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques. They gather intelligence from various sources, such as open-source intelligence, security forums, and dark web monitoring. Threat intelligence analysts provide organisations with insights into potential threats and recommendations for proactive defense measures.
- ** Risk Management Advisor**: The risk management advisor assists organisations in identifying, assessing, and mitigating cybersecurity risks. They help establish risk management frameworks, conduct risk assessments, and develop risk treatment plans. Risk management advisors work closely with stakeholders to prioritise risks and implement controls to minimise potential impact.
- ** Security Awareness Trainer**: The security awareness trainer focuses on educating employees about cybersecurity best practices and raising awareness within the organisation. They design and deliver training programs, develop engaging materials, and conduct workshops to ensure employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining security.
