About the role

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor is responsible for bringing safety expertise to Prysmian Group through thought leadership, plan execution, engagement and coaching. A safe working environment is achieved when everyone plays a proactive part to keep themselves and their workmates safe. The role of the HSE Advisor is to create an environment where risks are identified and controlled, targeted programs are executed to mitigate specific risks, our people are comfortable to raise safety concerns and our leaders fully understand how their team work and are proactive in taking steps to reduce environment risks and worker behaviours that may impact worker safety. The HSE Advisor works closely with all business functions to ensure all legal and due diligence obligations are met, certifications maintained, and deliver continual improvements across EHS metrics.

**Responsibilities**:

- Understands the business and hazards and risks associated with it and by doing so, identify and develop risk prevention strategies/programs to mitigate WHS risks
- Collaboratively engage with Prysmian Group to develop and co-ordinate execution of the Australian WHS strategy and safety culture
- Implements programs and other activities within agreed timeframes, budget and quality
- Consult with key stakeholders in the development & implementation of HSE procedures and support tools
- Co-ordinate, participate and or lead development of critical documentation and tools to support risk assessments, safe work practices, events & investigation
- Liaise with state and federal agencies to ensure all improvement notices, orders, etc. are escalated, managed and closed out in an effective and timely manner. Distribute a HSE alert to ensure learning's are shared across all sites
- Develop and implement HSE strategies to support risk reduction and HSE awareness
- Design and deliver HSE training programs to support system implementation, skill development & risk reduction
- Engage and influence site management teams to drive KPI achievement and accountability
- Assist in the development, implementation and accreditation of the ANZ HSE Management System that meet ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Drive physical and system improvements through the completion of risk assessments, standard operating procedures, safety inspections, and internal and external audits
- Supporting RTW Coordinator in all RTW management activities and Team Member rehabilitation strategies and wellbeing programs
- Run Site Safety Committee meetings and administer changes and closing out of Employee concerns.
- Seeks out industry best practice to further own learning and bring ‘fresh thinking’ to the business
- Drive compliance practice implementation and review across all sites
- Assist Prysmian Group with its WHS obligations by reporting and recording all incidents and hazards that may cause injury to self and others.
- Participate in training to support the implementation of the WHS Policy and ensure compliance with the appropriate legislation.

Experience
- Proven WHS leader with demonstrated ability to collaboratively develop and execute strategy
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and deliver results
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team
- Demonstrated ability to coach, advise and influence colleagues at more senior and junior levels with strong listening and collaboration skills
- Minimum 4 years experience in a similar role
- Exposure in manufacturing, engineering or operations based environments ideally with multi-site locations (not essential)
- Extensive knowledge & understanding of HSE legislation
- Knowledge & understanding of Workers Compensation, RTW legislation and claims management
- Understanding of HSE Management Systems
- Understanding of general finance and budgeting.
- Analysis of HSE statistics & Performance & Strategic Planning
