Melbourne, Australia Creative Natives Full time

**CONTENT STRATEGIST**

This is the perfect role for someone who loves storytelling in all forms and truly understands how to harness content’s power to build brands and deliver results.

Based in our Sydney the office, you’ll report into Heads & Tales’ Head of Content and partner with our network Strategy & Innovation Director to build, engage and influence audiences for our varied content marketing and publishing clients.

You’re across the latest trends in digital content, content marketing, and publishing and know how to identify the sweet spot between what audiences want, what brands can deliver, and what competitors aren’t doing well; and can develop creative, data-informed and insight-led content plans that achieve client goals. You’re not afraid to sink your teeth into anything be it a B2C or B2B challenge, an existing client or new business.

**About the Team**:

- Heads & Tales is a creative content agency on a mission to help our clients tell smarter stories, with thriving offices in Sydney and Melbourne. We're experts in content strategy, content creation and custom publishing, working with some of Australia’s most respected brands in retail, insurance, health, auto and culture.
- The agency is part of the global Hardie Grant Media marketing network with over 125 staff around the world and frequent opportunities to collaborate with our sibling agencies Sherpa (video), Tide Communications (PR & events) and Reload Media (digital marketing).
- Our client service and quality of work sets us apart along with our commitment to making a positive impact as a business through our diversity and inclusion initiatives, social outreach, volunteering and Innovate RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan). We have an active company-wide L&D and mentoring program, biannual hack days, seasonal half-days off, and lots of fun in between.

This is a permanent role, based in Sydney or Melbourne. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered. You must legally be able to work in Australia.

We are committed to creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply, including people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people with a disability.

**Key responsibilities**
- Be the primary strategic content planning contact and help to develop client relationships with the Account Director. You will live and breathe client’s businesses (and their category) and always be a step ahead, anticipating needs and seeing opportunities for them to utilise content to drive brand or business outcomes.
- Create the overarching content strategy for your clients in partnership with the Head of Content and oversee its implementation. As part of this you will conduct content audits and simple SEO research, undertake social analysis, establish content measurement frameworks, develop personas, and craft basic user journeys.
- Respond to new briefs and develop proposals and recommendations that meet client requirements/goals within the specified budget, collaborating with the Heads & Tales agency team, and other Hardie Grant Media agencies.
- Briefing and galvanising the Heads & Tales creative team leads and Sherpa Studio to fulfil content development requirements and ensuring outputs are aligned to the content strategy.
- Partnering with Reload Media and Tide Communications you will oversee content distribution across paid and earned media and fully integrate the content experience (where relevant).

**Core competencies**
- **Digital content strategy and editorial/content planning experience**
- **Analytical and curious**
You help put the ‘smart’ in Heads & Tales promise of delivering smart storytelling for an always on world. Your planning philosophy is brand and culture-centric, but you are able to interpret customer and channel data and use it to inform and influence decisions and guide content development. Suffice to say you have a positive reputation for asking ‘why’.
- **Tech-savvy and innovative**
- **Communication and presentation skills**
You’re confident, clear, and engaging with excellent written and verbal skills. You can sell strategic recommendations and conceptual ideas in plain language, so clients and colleagues understand them. You’re also quite handy with Canva, PowerPoint or Keynote, developing presentation decks that have wow factor.
- **Creative project management skills**

You’re a big picture thinker that gets equally obsessed by the details. Even the most ambitious ideas can be broken down into bite-sized chunks of work across a timeline. There’s nothing we could throw at you that you can’t make happen - and you can efficiently and effectively get things done yourself or through others. You excel at briefing creatives to bring your vision to life.
- **Business acumen**
You have good business sense and a basic understanding of f
