**About the Organisation**

St Vincent de Paul Society NSW (Vinnies) are a caring Catholic charity that offers "a hand up" to people in need. They achieve this by respecting every person's
**human dignity, sharing hope, and empowering individuals** to take control of their own destiny.

Vinnies NSW is also a
**leading provider of frontline services**, with 100 local services across the state. These deal with a range of issues including homelessness, domestic and family violence, disability, mental health, youth wellbeing, refugee and migrant inclusion, rehabilitation and addiction.

Vinnies NSW also currently has close to 11,000 members, volunteers and employees across the state who give their time to
**assist people experiencing disadvantage**. They offer food parcels, vouchers, financial assistance and counselling, help with bills, school items for children and household items.

**The Role - Grants Advisor**

Reporting to the Manager, Major Gifts and Philanthropy, you will work alongside another Grants Advisor in this newly created role to be a part of a refocus for the way Vinnies NSW approach their grants program.

This is not your typical grant writing role; they are moving away from the high volume, small grants instead looking to

You will be a true ‘advisor’ to internal stakeholders,
**building strong relationships** cross-function to deeper understand the needs for funding for programs and services.

You will need to use your
**strategic thinking** and investigative skills to ask the right questions and truly understand the needs of the orgnaisation. Then you will be able to think more broadly and enhance requests by
**identifying larger more sustainable** requests for funding to support these needs longer term.

This shift in their grants strategy is already underway, with
**support from expert external consultants** who will be guiding the team to implement new efficiencies and streamline their program for greater success.

**Responsibilities**:

- Be a champion for driving sustainable larger scale funding across the orgnaisation, work as an Advisor on all things grants
- Coordinate and manage NSW funding opportunities from trusts and foundations, corporate or business foundations/grants, and government
- Coordinate and administer funding submissions in line with the Society’s key objectives and service delivery goals
- Maintain accurate acquittal activity and grant and submission records
- Develop and maintain relationships with funding entities and key decision-makers

**Your Skills & Attributes**:

- You are curious, and enjoy to research and ask questions
- Enjoy researching, strategic thinking and the matching process
- A true love of writing, with a demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively with an unwavering attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, and relationship management skills with the confidence to build thoughtful relationships internally and externally
- A team player who collaborates well with others to overcome challenges
- A track record of managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and utisiling CRM systems
- Experience in government, non-profit, journalism or copywriting
- Experience in Grant Writing is highly preferred but not mandatory
- A passion and interest in working for a not-for-profit organisation.
