**About Us**

Softmed is a world-class Australian-based manufacturing facility for surgical masks, N95 respirators, and other PPE products and non-woven fabrics that are the raw materials for PPE.

Our factory in Campbellfield, Victoria, is a medical grade, state-of-the-art PPE manufacturing facility and Testing Laboratory. This is also the location of our Head Office and administrative and operational team.

**About the role**

The role of Laboratory Associate - The microbiologist is responsible for laboratory research, analysis, testing and reporting associated with microorganisms and quality control associated with medical devices and Softmed products.

Duties of the role will include (but not be limited to):

- Coordinate, supervise and develop microbiology laboratory experiments and activities, ensuring that ISO 17025:2017 and ISO 13485:2016 requirements are met.
- Using acquired knowledge of microorganisms to develop and improve medical devices and quality procedures.
- Review and search scientific documentation about implementing microbiological techniques in medical devices and manufacturing processes.
- Research, define and contribute to improving the quality control process of medical devices.
- Designing, maintaining and executing laboratory testing according to standard procedures of each product.
- Conducting experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined standards methods.
- Implement ISO 17025:2017 in order to contribute to the certification of the Laboratory.
- Generate product quality reports according to the company's production and acceptance criteria of each standard.
- Create procedures with testing and calibrating of lab equipment in preparation, delegating functions to the team.
- Update, verify and develop Laboratory's documentation to improve internal processes in the company to keep the certifications.
- Create safety procedures for those working with chemicals and microorganisms.
- Follow the specifications according to ISO 17025:2017.
- Ensure that laboratory suppliers and raw materials comply with the appropriate requirements.
- Develop continuous improvement projects in accordance with established standards.
- Providing training required to the personnel in good manufacturing practices and using microorganisms as a basis.

**Position Requirements**
- Relevant Bachelor Degree qualification
- At least two years of relevant employment experience
- Experience working in a medical manufacturing environment.

**Salary**: $41,331.82 - $118,915.87 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

- Campbellfield, VIC 3061: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
