**The Role**
Our client is seeking a Safety and Compliance leader for the role of OH&S Advisor, who will assist in organizing and consolidating all their policies, procedures, and documentation related to Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, and Compliance. This individual will identify any gaps in these areas, compose policies, and communicate them through Toolbox meetings.

Additionally, the OH&S Advisor will be accountable for improving our client's staff onboarding process, ensuring that vehicle compliance procedures are established, and conducting regular sessions on driver safety. The OH&S Advisor will collaborate closely with the Depot Manager. The position is located on-site in Prestons, Sydney, New South Wales.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Examine safety documentation to ensure completeness and generate any missing documentation as necessary.
- Monitor the completion of various checks, such as Warehouse Forklift Prestart Check, Reach Forklift Prestart Check, and Truck Forklift Prestart Check, as well as ensure that an Incident Report is completed following any incidents.
- Check with managers to determine if any incidents require reporting, and make sure subcontractor statements are completed for subcontractors.
- Organize safety items and announcements for toolbox meetings and conduct site reviews to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
- Manage incident management procedures.
- Ensure that new staff and contractors receive Verification of Competency (VOCs) for drivers and reach stacker operators, as well as the Employment Handbook and Safety Handbook.
- Verify that staff members have received appropriate induction on any new equipment they have used.
- Provide necessary training to staff members, including COR training/refresher training for allocators/fleet operators and Driver Dangerous Goods Training.
- Establish an OH&S committee and manage and maintain DG kit issuance for drivers, training registers, emergency drills and schedules, injury management, insurance management, motor vehicle incidents, and first aid equipment registers.

**Key Requirements**:

- Demonstrated history of working in Transport/Logistics and Warehousing space
- At least 2 years of solid experience in creating, implementing, and improving Safety and Compliance policies and procedures in the field of Transport/Logistics and Warehousing
- Certifications or qualifications such as Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS), NHVL Awareness Training, NHVL Chain of Responsibility (CoR) Training, NHVL Load Restraint Training, NHVL Fatigue Management Training, etc.
- Open to work on-site; Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
