Safety Coordinator

About the Role
The Safety Coordinator will support the Safety Manager in implementing and monitoring Safety and Wellbeing Programs, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to promote safety within the site. The role involves mentoring and developing staff on all safety matters and collaborating with Senior Managers to drive the existing safety management system. The Safety Coordinator will work with a range of stakeholders to address safety risks to youth justice workers and drive improved safety outcomes through proactive strategies.
The role will work in metropolitan and country locations as required across the frontline business functions.
In this role you will have knowledge of safety concepts, to bring a lens in the delivery of preventative safety systems supporting the effective implementation of the Safety Wellbeing Strategy 2021 - 2025 for DJCS.
About you
- Subject matter expert in occupational health and safety management systems with demonstrated business partnering experience to meet operational demand.
- Proven experience managing a diverse stakeholder group to deliver consistent and quality safety service.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience are desirable.
- A full and current driver's license is required due to the need to work across different locations.

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).
