Our Foster Care Services program is funded through the Department for Child Protection to provide family based foster care services in the SA Metropolitan North, South West and East, the Adelaide Hills, the Barossa, Fleurieu Peninsula and the Murray Mallee regions.

Foster carers are recruited, trained and supported to provide emergency, short term, long term, specialist and respite care for children and young people who are under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive.

We have an outstanding opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person to join our team as the **_Aboriginal Cultural Worker (Foster Care Services)._**

In joining our team, you will provide and support culturally inclusive placements for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in family-based care. You will be an integral member of the Foster Care Services team, and will work collaboratively with leadership and staff to ensure culturally responsive placements.

- Promote strategies and practice for a service model which provides Aboriginal children and young people in care with appropriate and culturally responsive placements
- Provide consultation on cultural considerations to placement coordinators for referrals of Aboriginal children and young people
- Promote the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle at all levels within the program.
- Develop and maintain key relationship networks to achieve goals and improve outcomes for children and young people in care
- Enhance connections with Aboriginal communities and Elders

Lutheran Care is committed to providing a child safe environment therefore you will require a valid DHS Working With Children Check and a current Safe Environments for Children & Young People certificate. You must hold a current and unrestricted South Australian Drivers License and possess a registered roadworthy vehicle available for work use (_employees reimbursed for work travel_).
