Hays has partnered with a large State Government organisation that plays a vital role in the design and delivery of education in Queensland.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced AO6 Policy Officer to join their team for a 6-month assignment with the possibility to extend. Applications close Friday June 30th.

**Your new role**

The purpose of this role is to assist the Policy Unit with increased work flow on matters such as review of legislation, operational planning, risk management, project evaluation and other business activities. As the AO6 Policy Officer, your day-to-day duties will include:

- Writing briefs, reports and correspondence for internal and external audiences.
- Undertaking research and collating detailed information on various topics.
- Providing secretariat support to the Board, committees and key external stakeholders.
- Support the coordination and development of key deliverables such as planning, reporting and corporate documents, strategic governance arrangements and evaluations.
- Quality assure a range of written communications such as briefing materials, correspondence and budget papers.
- Establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships.
- Undertake special projects and other duties as directed.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Past experience in a similar role is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong client-focused work ethic.
- Ability to exercise judgement to effectively manage competing priorities while working collaboratively with colleagues, or individually, to deliver products on time and to the expectations of clients.

- $68.92 - $73.59 + Super (based on experience).
