Technology Portfolio Manager

**How will I help?**

This is a fantastic opportunity for a permanent role with Qvalent, a fintech wholly owned by Westpac Banking Corporation. Qvalent provides web-based software and support services that enable organisations to streamline their financial business processes.

As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient management of the Qvalent and GTS Digital portfolio of strategic projects. You will ensure alignment between project execution and organisational strategy, prioritise projects based on business value, and optimise resource allocation to maximise the overall portfolio value.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Evaluate and prioritize project proposals for strategic value, and regularly review portfolio performance and alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure portfolio alignment with strategic goals and resource capabilities, facilitate collaboration among teams and stakeholders, and resolve project conflicts or dependencies.
- Establish portfolio governance processes for project selection, prioritization, and resource allocation; monitor project milestones, and ensure smooth transitions from initiation to closure with effective knowledge transfer.
- Oversee the portfolio budget, optimize resource allocation and procurement, analyse performance metrics (cost, schedule, risk), and manage investment risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Ensure skilled resource availability and allocation, facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among teams, and support the development and retention of key talent.
- Explore new project/business opportunities with 3 rd party organisations and other parts of the Westpac business that are aligned with the strategic goals.

**What do I need?**
- Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- At least 5+ years of experience managing Technology Projects and Portfolios.
- Proven experience in ensuring alignment with strategic goals, managing project conflicts, and facilitating team collaboration.
- Experience with seeking out new opportunities for the business, ensuring these are aligned to the strategic goals and delivering the associated projects to bring the new opportunity to life.
- Experience in establishing governance processes, overseeing budgets, optimizing resource allocation, and analysing performance metrics.
- Experience with software development and system testing processes
- Working experience with Atlassian products, including Jira and Confluence
- Knowledge of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) would be an advantage
- Strong written and verbal communication, time management and coordination skills.
