**Division Responsibilities**

The Information Technology Division (ITD) supports the Department of Health’s (the

infrastructure. ITD manages a number of public facing digital systems and leads a significant

data capability that supports the department’s compliance and regulation functions, policy

development and program delivery. ITD are also responsible for delivery of desktop services

to over 6,000 staff and oversee the department’s protective and cyber security services. ITD

is growing to support a significant reform program focused on modernising and

transforming Health and Aged Care services.

**Branch Responsibilities**

The Portfolio Management, Architecture and Commercial Services Branch provides strategic

coordination of Health Digital and ICT programs and projects to support the Department's

policy and reform agendas. This includes monitoring benefits realisation and managing an

assurance framework that drives quality, consistency, and value for money customer

focused outcomes. The Branch also drives IT financial sustainability practices, workforce

planning, enterprise architecture capability, leads ICT procurement and commercials and

provides the enterprise testing and quality assurance capability.

**Section Responsibilities**

The Enterprise Testing and Quality Assurance Section is responsible for the following

functions:

- Confirm customer and stakeholder requirements are correctly defined and

documented
- Identify, assess, and address issues, defects and risks throughout testing prior to

release into Production
- Provide confidence that releases to production deliver the expected outcomes and

are fit for purpose
- Provide advice to the executive around risks from a quality perspective
- Ongoing maintenance testing frameworks (manual and automated) which support

the (ICT) testing needs across the department
- Recruit and manage testing professionals across multiple branches and business

projects
- Ensure appropriate test environments exist and test plans are followed
- Provide independent testing of all components delivered to test, document findings,

and follow up on failures/defects and issues***

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work closely with Test Leads to implement departmental approved test processes,

and framework across projects
- Work with Test Leads to identify and review requirements for test cases, and

execute test cases using the enterprise toolset
- Identify and report defects on the system under test as required
- Work with Test Leads to identify any gaps in testing and escalate any risks/issues in

advance to work out contingency plans to mitigate the risks
- Meet objectives and progress work focusing on achieving objectives even under

challenging circumstances by being adaptive, strategic, and thinking laterally to

implement and promote improved work practices
- Work under limited supervision, with a strong customer service ethos and solution

focus, and deliver results in accordance with project timelines
- Present information and messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner to a

wide range of project stakeholders***

test cases and resulting defects, including identifying and creating data requirements

using an enterprise toolset
