**Role Description/Criteria**
The successful applicant will have a passion for leadership and literacy and be responsible for targeted teaching and growth of teachers and students. They will work well in a team collaborating with the Literacy Coach, Learning Culture Leader and teach and instil in the students and staff, a love of literacy and learning.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated leadership skills and a passion for learning, be familiar with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, and be able to collaborate with the Literacy Coach and Learning Culture Leader as part of a team working towards improving learning outcomes for all students at St Mary's. A strong knowledge of the English curriculum and an understanding of the MACS 2030 strategy and Vision for Instruction is essential.
The successful applicant will exercise the behaviours and dispositions of a highly effective leader i.e. be student centred, promote life-giving relationships, support evidence-informed improvement, believe in and pursue their own learning and growth and provide clarity and direction for staff, students and parents.

Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Literacy improvement evidenced through research, data and improvement in current pedagogical practices.
2. Explanation of how to plan strategically for school improvement in Literacy, as documented in the MACS Vision for Instruction, the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and the school’s Vision
3. Developed organisational and time management skills with an ability to work independently and as a team.
4. Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage in ways that values and upholds high expectations of staff and students and that promote learning, growth and success.
5. Demonstrated ability to reflect on one's own practise and commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth in the areas of education, leadership and Literacy.
Special Requirements
The successful applicant should:
- have accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (is desirable).
- be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
- have read and be committed to maintaining the standards as set out in our Staff Code of Conduct
- have read, and be aware of, the attached role description and Application for Employment
- after having completed the Application for Employment listing three referees include, where applicable your current and previous Principals
- hold a current VIT registration
