The **VIC Transport Manager** is responsible for overseeing planning efficiencies, directing a fleet of Drivers, Team Co-ordinators and/or Team leaders and supporting Team Managers and the State Logistics Manager to achieve DIFOT with a safe, efficient and effective transport function.

You will play a leadership role in our VIC DC community and be a part of the National Transport function, utilising your proven Transport network experience and knowledge to drive the overall commercial and operational performance.

***In this role you will be responsible for**:

- Support Logistics Operations to minimise transport failures
- Make sure Route Master Data is correct
- Work with Sales to trouble shoot specific customers with regular failures
- Drive local OH&S programme and promote a “Safety First” culture within the business
- Drive savings initiatives embedded in 2023 AOP
- Tender interstate freight to achieve savings and improved service levels
- Review existing metropolitan rates and minimise use of Outside Hire
- OH&S Hazard Management
- Report any incidents or accidents using forms provided
- Compliance with the Winc National OH & S Management System
- Responsible for ensuring outbound processes are safely, effectively planned and managed
- Accountable for delivering within the budgeted labour costs of all permanent and casual staff in the operational area of the warehouse
- Effectively manage costs and improvements to outside hire processes and usage
- Driving to ensuring highest possible service levels are achieved, in line with customer expectations
- Actively coordinate change management to drive productivity and cost efficiencies
- Oversee the Co-ordination of the order processing activities to achieve the optimized performance of the department
- Maintain day to day operations standards
- Work with VIC State Logistics Manager to co-ordinate improvement initiatives
- Hold monthly meeting with DC Management providing trend analysis and feedback in all areas
- Maintain a positive culture throughout the Operational functions within the remit and work with peers and managers to drive it through the business
- Provide assistance and support to satellite sites

***Skills & Experience Required**:

- Past exp managing a fleet and contract drivers
- Has the ability to forward plan and have a strategic thinking to the Transport function.
- Experience in management of a team in a warehousing environment
- Knowledge of state legislation for OH&S and Industrial Relations
- Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups, projects or initiatives
- TMS Experience
- Experience with Sub-Contractor drivers and outside hire
- Strong understanding of Logistics Operations and processes
- Proven experience in implementing process improvement and change management
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with many different departments
- Proven ability to manage a dispatch operation
