**THE HEART RESEARCH INSTITUTE** (HRI) is an internationally recognised medical research institute that performs cutting-edge cardiovascular research from our state-of-the-art facilities in Newtown, Sydney and the Charles Perkins Centre (CPC) at The University of Sydney.

For over 30 years, HRI has been one of Australia's leading research organisations working to detect, prevent and treat heart disease. Through our research, HRI has made significant findings that have changed the way we live with and treat cardiovascular disease.

**You will**:

- Identify suitable grant funding opportunities and disseminate to researchers
- Provide advice on grant schemes
- Take responsibility for the post award processes, partnering with researchers to ensure compliance with contractual terms of funders
- Collate and manage the reporting required for external bodies
- Manage the relationship with the NHMRC, ensuring HRI maintains its status as an administering institution and completes all the required documentation
- Work closely with the University of Sydney to ensure the smooth running of grants administered through the University for HRI

**Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:

- Bachelor of Science or similar (Postgraduate scientific qualification preferred).
- 5+ years of grant management experience in a medical research institute or university.
- Demonstrated experience working with universities in the grant environment.
- Management of research contracts.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- High attention to detail.
- A can-do approach, with strong problem-solving skills.
- The ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in working with people at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A team player who enjoys pitching in when required.
