**Description**
We are looking to engage a pragmatic Internal Audit professional, to actively collaborate and contribute to our overall direction of our Group Internal Audit function within the RACQ Group.
You will bring your extensive audit expertise, pragmatic approach and influential engagement skills, to deliver the Annual Audit Plan for a highly effective and respected assurance and advisory function.
As a qualified Audit professional, you will have demonstrated experience in delivering innovative audit solutions that support strong outcomes.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Take full responsibility for performing a range of audits in a professional and timely manner that provide value, insight and assist management to appropriately manage risks.
- Effectively communicating audit results, both verbally and in writing, so they are persuasive, placed in the appropriate context, and understood by the recipient.
- Provide quality and timely advice to key stakeholders on managing current and emerging risks in a fast-paced, innovative and highly regulated environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Group Internal Audit team to achieve team goals of delivering a range of technical, project assurance, and business audit activities, across RACQs Assistance, Insurance, Bank, and Group functions.
- Build and maintain effective, collaborative and trusted relationships with the business leaders and management, and the internal audit function’s co-source provider/s.
**Skills & Experience**:
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience, in one or more of the following areas: internal audit / external audit / project management or assurance / technology assurance / risk / compliance / regulated environment.
- Proven experience in effectively performing risk-based audits or advisory activities.
- Proven experience in successfully engaging, influencing, negotiating and collaborating with senior business stakeholders in a challenging and multi-disciplinary environment to achieve outcomes.
- Advanced report writing skills at the Executive Management level.
- High level of demonstrated initiative and self-motivation, along with a proven ability to be a critical thinker, innovative in problem-solving and effective in a changing environment.
- Ability to understand, document and analyse complex information, structures, processes and concepts in a regulated environment to identify meaningful audit observations, appropriate impacts and root causes and provide insightful, pragmatic and risk-based recommendations.
**Desirable skills**:
- Knowledge of / familiarity with the regulatory framework relating to financial services (particularly general insurance and retail banking) are highly desirable.
- Experience in conducting project assurance that provided value and insight to effectively manage project delivery and delivered risks, including a practical understanding of project management and delivery standards, risk management techniques and internal control frameworks.
