Landscaper and Gardner

**Purpose of the position**

The support to the supervisor with Civil and Landscape Construction and day to day operations.

**Key responsibilities & duties**
- Fulfill all commercial civil and landscaping duties as instructed by the site manager, including:

- Base preparation including earthworks for pathways, roads, etc.
- Laying pavers for pathways and roads.
- Concreting pathways, kerbs, and gutters.
- Stonework and installation of outdoor structures.
- Trenching for irrigation, water, and electrical.
- Drainage installation and use of machinery.
- Preparing and managing seedbeds and growing sites.
- Cultivating and planting a variety of flora, including trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, and bulbs
- Preparing lawn areas by spreading topsoil, planting grass, and laying instant turf.
- Setting out and installing hardscape (e.g., gravel and paved areas, walls, fences, pergolas) and softscape (e.g., plants, turf) structures.
- Maintaining planted and grassed areas by weeding, trimming, fertilizing, watering, and mowing.
- Pruning trees and hedges, and installing plant support and protection devices.
- Caring and maintaining for plant, tress and lawn areas through weeding, trimming, fertilizing, watering, mowing assessing their condition and determine necessary treatment.

Planning and Coordination:
Prepare plans and drawings, select materials and plants, and schedule landscape construction in accordance with client requirements, site conditions, and environmental considerations.

Safety and Compliance:

- Ensure work is undertaken in a safe manner and compliant with regulations, safety instructions, procedures, and SWMS’s.
- Attend pre-start, site inductions, and toolbox meetings as required by the supervisor or project manager.
- Report incidents to the site supervisor/project manager.
- Participate in training and monitoring as required and directed.
- Ensure that Space Landscape Construction PPE is maintained in reasonable condition.

**WHS Requirements**

The Leading hand will assist the Site Supervisor to uphold work in line with Space Landscape

Construction IMS Operations Manual, Project Management Plan and associated policies.

Note: Space Landscape Construction will supply PPE and the employee is expected to

comply with minimum PPE requirements. Task specific PPE is to be worn where specified.

**Academic & trades qualifications**

Minimum Requirements are:

- minimum of 3 years experience or relevant qualification in landscape maintenance a must
- White Card;
- Drivers Licence;
- Plant and Truck Licenses (as required);
- Licenses and Tickets to perform tasks as required by Legislation;
**Personal Requirements / Skills**
- Honesty, Integrity and punctuality;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Understanding of Space Landscape Construction Integrated Management System;
- Enjoy practical, manual and outdoor work;
- Be physically fit;
- Maintain good personal hygiene;
- Be able work in a team environment;
- Have good communication, administration and reporting skills.
- Able to complete various landscaping duties as required.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Work Location: In person
