An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic **Cardiology Interventional Fellow **to join our **Cardiology Department **for a **12-month Fellowship position from February 2024.**

**About the department**:
**The Cardiology Department is responsible for the provision of an extensive range of cardiac services to inpatients and outpatients including general cardiology, electrophysiology, heart failure service, echocardiography, cardiac catheterisation, interventional procedures, and non-invasive diagnostic procedures**.

**Details of position/position requirements**:
Fellows are required to participate in and achieve competence in the following procedures, initially as assistants and then as supervised first operators:

- Diagnostic coronary angiography (at least 150 cases/year).
- Diagnostic right and left heart catheterisation (at least 25 cases/year).
- Elective and emergent coronary angioplasty and stenting (at least 200 cases/year).
- Insertion of intra aortic balloon pumps (at least 5 cases during fellowship).

Fellows are required to assist with percutaneous closure of congenital defects, aortic and mitral valvuloplasty, transcatheter aortic valve replacement and peripheral vascular interventional procedures, but are not expected to achieve independent operator status.

**To be successful in this role you must have completed core training in Cardiology.**
