Sky News and Fox Sports News ingests, edits and archives hundreds of hours of content each day. As Media Coordinator, you will work with our Editing, News Exchange and Editorial teams to identify and retain valuable content and ensure appropriate metadata is added to each clip.

Your work will help our journalists to find high quality content quickly and easily to add value and context to our broadcast and digital storytelling.

You will manage video and image assets within the Sky News ecosystem to ensure our content is always up-to-date and only high-quality content goes to air.

**What’s the role?**
- Exercise editorial judgment and work with our Editorial departments to identify and archive important content each day.
- Liaise with other departments to gather appropriate metadata/tags and ensure it is added to clips.
- Use sQ Cut (Quantel) to create rough cuts and compiles for archive and manage server space.
- Use Adobe Photoshop to prepare photographs for use on-air.
- Keep on-air image assets up to date.
- Assist the Editing and News Exchange Managers to retrospectively add metadata to content already saved in the Sky News archive.
- Communicate effectively with our Editing and News Exchange teams to ensure there is no double handling.
- Provide expert advice on how to best manage content, including disposal.

**Who you are**
- Experience in media asset management/ digital video content archiving.
- University or TAFE qualifications in journalism, communications, graphics, media or broadcasting preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in Australian news, politics and national affairs.
- Sound editorial judgment/ the ability to identify content that might be useful in future.
- Ability to work quickly and concisely and manage changing deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate calmly and effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
