English and Maths Tutor

Job Title: English and Maths Tutor

(For Primary and/or High School aged students)

Job Summary:
**Responsibilities**:
1. Develop customized lesson plans and learning strategies based on students' individual strengths, weaknesses, and learning goals (resources are provided if necessary).

2. Assess students' English and maths proficiency levels through diagnostic assessments and discussions.

3. Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students, focusing on improving their comprehension, problem-solving skills, and academic performance.

4. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences.

5. Review and reinforce fundamental concepts in English grammar, reading comprehension, writing skills, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and other mathematical topics as needed.

6. Incorporate relevant resources, such as textbooks, worksheets, online tools, and educational games, to enhance learning outcomes.

7. Monitor students' progress regularly, identify areas for improvement, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.

8. Offer constructive feedback and encouragement to students to build confidence and motivation in their learning journey.

9. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians to provide updates on students' progress, discuss concerns, and collaborate on academic support strategies.

10. Stay informed about curriculum standards, educational trends, and best practices in English and maths instruction to continuously enhance teaching effectiveness.

Qualifications:
1. WWCC

2. Strong proficiency in both English and maths, with demonstrated knowledge of curriculum standards and learning objectives.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.

4. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students overcome academic challenges and achieve success.

5. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students.

**Job Type**: Subcontract

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 10 per week

**Experience**:

- Tutoring/Teaching: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)
