**Roster**:Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Lead Data Analytics and Data Science to join our Autonomy Operations team. Reporting to the Principal Optimisation and Performance, the Lead Performance is responsible for data analysis and decision support systems. This role will be accountable for the performance tracking systems and metrics, and for the training and delivery of these systems to the wider business.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Data Integration: Integrate diverse data sources, including sensor data, geological data, and operational data, to create comprehensive datasets for analysis.
- Responsible for Algorithm Development: Design and implement algorithms for optimization, automation, and predictive maintenance to enhance mining processes. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in data science to continuously improve algorithms.
- Data Visualisation: Create insightful and actionable visualizations to communicate complex analytical results to non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) teams to develop user-friendly dashboards.
- Run stakeholder engagement and process improvement workshops to gather requirements, opportunities or to deploy recent process changes.
- Work alongside Business Analysts to map the impact of changes to Functional Requirements of the solutions being developed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with geologists, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide data-driven insights. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data security, integrity, and availability.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation through the use of data analytics. Actively participate in research and development activities to explore innovative solutions for mining-related challenges.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 7+ years’ experience as a Data Scientist in an industrial setting, preferably within the mining industry.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab or R.
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong problem solving skills
- 3+ years experience in Mining Industry. Knowledge in open pit mining, preferably in iron ore
