**About the Role**
We are currently seeking an experienced and results driven Workplace Health & Safety Manager to join our Northern Operations Leadership Team. Working closely with the JBS risk team and key site leaders across Northern Operations, the Workplace Health & Safety Manager will drive strategy, and ensure that effective WHS policies, procedures, systems and services are in place to maintain the highest level of safety compliance.
**The role’s responsibilities include (but not limited to)**:
- Partner with business and site leadership team to develop key priorities
- Ensure all facilities maintain continuous “audit ready” state of compliance
- Oversee effective implementation and utilisation of risk assessment and risk prediction processes ensuring these are effective at identifying and mitigating risk
- Oversee effective implementation and utilisation of the group Safety, Wellbeing and Injury management frameworks
- Provide content and direction in regards to safety/health/wellbeing training
- Report as necessary for sites and executives to drive continuous improvement
- Participate in WHS and workers compensation projects
- Provision of technical and strategic direction
- Ensure annual objectives for self and team are regularly reviewed and met
**About You**
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS or related field
- Extensive experience in a similar role in a fast-paced, multisite FMCG environment
- Sound understanding of WHS Legislation and Codes of Practice
- Demonstrated experience in the execution of complex WHS strategic plans that encompass compliance, risk management, systems and safety leadership
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Australian state workers compensation schemes and self-insurance
- High level of emotional intelligence and communication skills with an ability to positively influence the behaviour of others and drive sustainable organisational change
