**Key Relationships**

The Performing Arts Assistant (Dance) reports to the Head of Dance
and works closely with the Dance faculty staff, students and families.
Ultimately accountable to the Principal via the Director of Business
Operations.

**_Position Objective: _**
The Performing Arts Assistant (Dance) provides administrative services and practical support to the Dance
faculty (Head of Dance, Dance teachers and co-curricular dance tutors) and is the point of administrative
contact for students and their parents. A key function is the provision of administration support for the
Dance department and maintenance of an interface between these staff and School’s administration.
Editing of video footage, simple sewing tasks associated with costuming of productions and maintenance
of the Dance Wardrobe and costume catalogue is also a requirement of the role.

**_Key Responsibilities: _**
**1. Administration support to the Dance Program**
- Prepare and maintain the performance calendar for Transition to Year 12 students and teachers
- Be first point of contact for parental enquiries/communications
- Communication to parents
- Assist in development of and maintain a Student Handbook for the Westminster Dance Program
- Work closely with the Music Assistant
- Ordering goods and supplies
- Creating and photocopying programs and rehearsal schedules
- Placing daily notices
- Submitting maintenance and IT requests as required
- Submitting Consent2Go forms for excursions/ booking of tickets
- Maintenance of attendance rolls/follow up of co-curricular dance student absence
- Assist with the coordination of major on-site performances
- Assist with tour administration
- Process time cards in relation to payment for co-curricular dance tutors
- Updating of student information and co-curricular lists and proofing photographs
- Liaising with Friends of Performance as required

**2. Administrative support to Dance staff**

Undertake administration requirements in coordination of the dance productions program and act as
a conduit between the department and staff, parents and students including:

- Assistance with rehearsal schedules
- Student lists e.g. attendance and catering
- Event coordination of concerts and performances
- Handling ticket sales for productions and front of house duties
- Organising booklets and programmes for performances

**_Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience _**
- Exceptional customer service focus
- High level of clerical and administrative skills
- Experience and skills in database information entry and management
- Excellent organisational skills
- Sound computer literacy including working knowledge of SEQTA, Clipboard and Canva
- Sound video editing skills including experience with Adobe Premiere Pro an advantage
- Demonstrated sewing skills for simple costume repairs, alterations and/or construction an advantage
- Experience sorting, maintaining and cataloguing a costume wardrobe
- Sound numeracy skills including liaising with the Head of Dance to place costume orders for large productions
- Sound understanding of dance aesthetic for image selection/media promotion tasks
- Demonstrated ability to meet time and quality expectations
- Current Provide First Aid accreditation**_ _**
- Previous experience within a performing arts program and/or dance background an advantage
