About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Ward Clerk to join the Gibson Unit at the South Hobart campus. This is a permanent part time position working 40 hours a fortnight, Monday and Tuesday and every second Friday.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, the Ward Clerk is responsible for admin and clerical duties including planning of patient flow throughout the ward and day oncology unit, answering phone queries, completing admission/discharge paperwork, compiling patient files, keeping the flow of patients on track, uphold a high level of customer service and maintain important key stakeholder relationships with open communication.

Key Responsibilities

**Your main duties will include**:
Maintaining excellent customer service

Communication with key stakeholders to maintain patient flow

Administrative duties such as admission/discharge paperwork, answering phone queries, planning for unit patient flow

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills

High degree of initiative and self-motivation

Team approach to work

Excellent customer service and people skills

Proven ability to work as part of a dynamic team and able to take instruction and complete given tasks under mínimal supervision/autonomously

Proven ability to manage duties and organise competing priorities in a busy working environment

Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations and information

Outstanding time management skills

Experience with IPM (desirable)

Previous ward clerk experience (desirable)
