We are looking for a dedicated and accredited Dietitian who is passionate about the right to Healthy Ageing for all older adults.

**About the role**

The Dietitian acts as a consultant and resource person across residential services to provide nutrition care and optimise the nutritional status of our residents. The role includes individual nutrition assessments for residents and menu reviews and is also responsible for the coordination of quality activities including monitoring and continuously improving food services across Southern Cross Care.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Assisting each resident to achieve quality of life and dietary outcomes via sound nutritional advice and assessment
- Involvement in menu review with a focus on maintaining and /or improving resident nutritional status and care outcomes
- Supporting healthy ageing with a deep commitment to enhance resident’s potentials
- Providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to facility staff in regards to dietary needs
- Participating in quality improvement projects in food service a with a focus on maximising food intake and enjoyment for residents
- Attending clinical meetings and case conferences where required

**About you**

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
- Accredited Practising Dietitian with current and full membership with Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)
- Clinical experience in Aged Care and clinical skills to provide accurate assessments in Residential Care
- Knowledge of menu planning, supplement use /needs in aged care
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Effective problem solving, negotiation and decision making skills
- Capacity to maintain a professional composure during periods of adversity and pressure
- Effective report writing skills
- Current and unrestricted Driver's licence
- A basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as are applicable to the role
- Higher qualification in or proceeding towards Nutrition, Management or Public Health & Research - desirable
