**About the role**:
A highly rewarding opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as the Science Facilitator located at the Yarra Ranges Tech School, Lilydale. This role is full time, ongoing.

The Science Facilitator role entails delivering exceptional customer service and tailored support to all YRTS student learners, school teachers, and visitors. Key responsibilities include designing and refining learning programs aligned with the Vic Curriculum and VCE Science and Health outcomes, integrating advanced technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR) systems, 3D Printing, and Image Scanning systems, and implementing computer-based real-world Scenario-Simulation systems for team-decision making.

Additionally, the role involves managing Clean Energy systems and kits to promote adaptable and independent student learning pathways. The Science Facilitator will cultivate a dynamic and student-centered learning environment, utilizing effective behavioral management strategies and performance expectations to ensure student engagement. Other duties include preparing science-oriented program spaces and providing professional learning opportunities in the field of science.

The Yarra Ranges Tech School situated at the Lilydale Lakeside campus was the first of ten technical schools to be established as part of the Victorian Government’s Technical Schools Initiative. The Tech School delivers scientific and high-tech educational self-learning discovery programs to students from 19 partner secondary schools. The Tech School provides learning programs that are linked to school curriculum, and expose students to the technology and discovery learning framework that will better equip them with knowledge of advanced technology, and provide essential employability skills to compete in a rapidly changing global economy.

**About You**:

- Tertiary qualification in a field of science
- A Working with Childrens Check and a Victorian Drivers Licence is required for this role
- VIT Registration is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating educational programs in an innovative education setting which achieve quality learning outcomes
- Coaching and mentoring experience in supporting independent learning is highly regarded
- Proven group facilitation or teaching skills experience in supporting learning using different learning technologies. Skills in using learner-oriented approaches that focus on guided discovery, experiential learning, and group dynamics are preferred
- Professional experience with instructional design, cognitive science, quality assurance or the educational technology landscape is a plus. An understanding of and commitment to the use of learning technologies to improve teaching and learning
- Proven working experience in an environment where creativity and innovation are valued as a strategic advantage. Have a passion for technology and sharing knowledge and skills
- Ability to establish and maintain strategic relationships with people at all levels within BHI and with partners and stakeholders, including students, schoolteachers and industry partners
