**About the role**

A key member of our National Payroll Team, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for the accuracy, and timeliness of end-to-end payroll processing for all salaried employees of McConnell Dowell. Based in Hawthorn, Melbourne, you will ensure payroll management is in compliance with relevant legislation, security controls, company policies, and modern awards.
- In an easy-to-get location, collaborating with great people, this role offers an opportunity for you to enjoy coming to work This is a hands-on role that requires you to have solid attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ensure the operational aspects of payroll processing, including salary disbursement, overpayment recovery, leave management and reporting are accurate and delivered on time
- Ensure personnel records are maintained to meet employee, organisation, and statutory requirements and entitlements
- Assist the organisation to meet its taxation, superannuation, and other legislative and statutory obligations through processing and preparation of returns, related reports, forms, and other documentation as requested
- Prepare payroll and human resources information for data input and assist with checking, quality control, and maintenance of records to ensure accuracy, service quality, and data integrity
- Provide a responsive, accurate client advisory service on payroll matters, resolve inquiries, and assist in identifying payroll errors and implementing corrective action where required

**About you**
- Solid and demonstrated experience preparing, processing, and maintaining end-to-end payroll management utilising Chris 21 or similar payroll software.
- Experienced payroll professional who is passionate about following processes, process improvement, and working in collaborating with the business.
- Sound understanding and interpretation of Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements and Australian legislation as it relates to payroll.
- Track record to consistently work with deadline delivery pressures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication style, requiring tact and patience in seeking information from internal as well as external stakeholders.
