**About the role**
The Counsellor provides a professional counselling service to TAFE SA students and provides a consultancy service to teaching staff. The Counsellor is responsible for the provision of student support services in areas of welfare, financial information, crisis, conflicts and complaints, personal stresses, and the provision of appropriate support to students experiencing a disability. The incumbent exercises initiative and judgement and will work collaboratively with others in meeting TAFESA strategic objectives.

**This position is being offered in a part-time capacity at 30 hours per week.**

An essential minimum requirement for this role is that you must have obtained a minimum degree level qualification in the areas of Counselling, Social Work or Psychology. Eligibility for membership of relevant a professional body will be highly regarded. i.e., AASW, MAPS, PACFA, ACA.

**Special Conditions**
- Out of hours work will be required.
- Intrastate and interstate travel may be required. Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
