**About the Role**:
The Associate Dean (Research) will make a significant, impactful and enduring contribution to foster a collaborative and inclusive academic research culture in Higher Education and Scholarship and Research programs across the Institute. Working closely with the Director Education, the successful incumbent will ensure the development of a strong profile in the areas of applied academic research, industry consultancy and engagement and community outreach whilst supporting the Institute’s strong focus on producing highly capable, high-quality, industry-ready graduates.

The commencing salary range for this role is $134,375 per annum to $155,971 per annum + 10.5% Superannuation.

**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Initiate and develop professional, industry and community engagement activities (including research, consultancy and other forms of revenue generating and non-revenue engagement) related to the academic domain of foods, tourism, hospitality and events.
- Provide leadership in research and support for scholarship in both individual and team-based projects.
- Guide academic staff with the development of the research, consulting, engagement and outreach dimensions of their professional careers.
- Contribute to the overall management and strategic direction setting of higher education programs.

- A PhD in either; foods, tourism, hospitality, or events.
- Demonstrated leadership of a research team.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with the industry, professional bodies and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in securing external competitive grants and consultancies.
- Demonstrated research excellence by way of publication profile in foods, tourism, hospitality, or events disciplines.
- Demonstrated innovation and effectiveness in research and consultancy, engagement and outreach.
- Demonstrated leadership of an academic group in a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge, concepts, understanding and skill to colleagues, clients, groups and individuals.
- Demonstrated behaviours that align with the William Angliss Institute Values.
