**Role**:
Attendance - 2 days per week 7.6 hours per day.

To ensure the school grounds, buildings and equipment are well maintained, well presented, physically secure and complaint with all appropriate regulations and provide a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for the school community.

**Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

- Ensure that the school buildings and grounds are well maintained and presented and that all work undertaken complies with statutory obligations and Department Standards
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment by having knowledge of OH&S Regulation
- Work cooperatively with a range of people including teachers, education support, students, parents and contractors
- Undertake other duties relevant to the field of responsibility as requested by the leadership team
- To provide maintenance and undertake repairs of a general nature. These include: simple general plumbing (e.g. cleaning of stormwater drains, electrical work (e.g. replacing light globes), general carpentry, painting, cleaning and repairs
- To provide an oversight of the furniture and equipment in the school. This typically includes: ensuring that the appropriate number of chairs and tables are available, in good order, in each area of the school; removing broken or unwanted furniture; and assisting with the relocation of furniture when needed.
- To provide for the general cleanliness of the School. This typically includes; attending to spills or minor breakages of glass; and cleaning those external areas (as directed).
- Carry out a range of external facilities and grounds cleaning tasks including clearing of, collecting and removal of litter required, clearing of paths and roadways to ensure the presentation of the school is always at a high standard.
- To provide general grounds maintenance and landscaping. This typically includes: mowing of lawns, general gardening/landscaping, cleaning drains and pits, sweeping paved areas and removing litter.
- To maintain and work with staff on school vegie garden
- To assist contractors when appropriate and requested to do so. This typically includes: directing contractors to items needing qualified maintenance or repair; and providing access to the school for contractors.
- Respond to service requests from staff for breakdowns and repairs and maintain records of such requests
- To unlock the buildings and grounds each morning
- To set up for school assemblies
- Identify, report and advise on major furniture, fixture and equipment renewal and repair needs across the school
- Assist with project management

- Ensure discretion and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

**Location Profile**:
Crusoe College is a 7-10 Secondary College in the Bendigo region. Formerly known as Kangaroo Flat Secondary College, it was merged with the Golden Square Secondary College and undertook a name change and major upgrade of facilities in 2008.
