**About Us**

The Aboriginal Justice group of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) is committed to driving systemic change in the justice system, to connect, support and deliver better outcomes for the Aboriginal community. The group works in partnership with Traditional Owners and the Victorian Aboriginal community to embed the principles of self-determination in the justice sector.

**About the role**

The Manager, Support Services will be responsible for leading the development of support processes such as case management, referrals to external trauma-informed counselling, financial counselling and legal advice, for participants of Stolen Generations Reparations in Victoria. You will be responsible for supervising a multi-disciplinary team, once established, to ensure delivery of high quality, participant led counselling and well-being services.

This role requires strong communication skills in working with Aboriginal people who have lived experience of trauma, and an in depth understanding of both the principles of cultural safety, and the gravity of this reform for impacted Aboriginal Victorians. The role also requires resilience, empathy, and experience dealing with material that can be challenging and distressing.

**About you**
- Recent demonstrable experience in a leadership role and the capability to think and plan strategically and write logically.
- Ability to develop and articulate the strategic framework for the delivery of the Reparations Package's support services.
- Significant experience leading and managing staff in a service delivery context.
- Excellent knowledge of Aboriginal culture and society and understanding of historical and contemporary issues relating to Aboriginal Victorians.
- Strong knowledge of, and demonstrated experience, working with Aboriginal communities and advisory groups, including sophisticated and culturally aware stakeholder engagement.

**How to apply**

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**:

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of **three doses** of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

Acceptable evidence includes:

- COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
