DFP Recruitment is a preferred supplier for Federal Government and is proudly working with our client who is seeking an APS6 Mental Health Programs Project Officer to provide support to the team.
The client currently delivers a suite of treatment and training programs to support veterans and their family’s mental and social health and their transition to civilian life. Mental health literacy training programs are delivered to members of the veteran community to enhance their capability to recognise veterans “at risk” and to increase their confidence to provide initial intervention and referral to a suitable support. The position will be responsible for all aspects of the program including, contract management for the service delivery and the evaluation activities, financial and procurement tasks associated with the program, and stakeholder engagement with service providers.
**As a Mental Health Programs Project Officer you will**:
- Manage the Mental Health literacy training project, including supporting implementation of continuous program improvement priorities.
- Be responsible for coordinating the project management activities, including the development of project documentation, maintenance of records, and reporting on project progress and outcomes.
- Undertake administrative responsibilities for the project including briefing papers, draft advice, submissions and correspondence for internal and external decision making forums to support the responsible officers to meet project delivery requirements.
- Manage the contract management and procurement activities related to the project.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of the training programs and overall project.
- The development and writing of program/project briefs, executive briefs and procedures; and
- Update and coordinate file management for project documentation and supporting information to support responsible officers.
**To be successful, you will need to have**:
- Experience managing programs and projects
- Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with building and maintaining relationships and negotiating outcomes
- An ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads
- Adaptability, resilience and flexibility in the face of changing priorities
- Sound judgement and professionalism
- ** Must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undertake a National Police Clearance**
- Experience in government writing (e.g. briefs, submissions and reports) and an understanding of the veteran community is desirable.
