As a Google Apigee X Specialist, you will play a pivotal role within our team, contributing to a re-platforming project. Your responsibilities will include operationalizing teams and providing ongoing platform advisory during the project build phase. You will showcase your expertise as an Apigee X specialist, particularly with Enterprise-level customers.

Key requirements include hands-on experience implementing Google Apigee X for Enterprise customers, proficiency in API design and development, API security, and API patterns and practices (especially the BFF pattern). Additionally, you should have expertise in JavaScript, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Bash scripting, Docker, Terraform, and familiarity with Google Apigee X platform suite features and capabilities. Experience in performance optimization and troubleshooting is essential.
**Qualifications**
- Proficient in implementing the BFF (Backend for Frontend) pattern to enhance frontend-backend communication efficiency and separation of concerns.
- Skilled in DevOps best practices, including setting up CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for automated deployment and scaling.
- Strong programming experience, particularly in JavaScript, enabling effective development and customisation within the Apigee ecosystem.
- Proficiency in API testing best practices to ensure reliability, scalability, and security of APIs. ReadyAPI and PactFlow experience is desirable
- Extensive hands-on experience with the Apigee suite, including Apigee X, Hybrid, or Edge, for designing, deploying, and managing APIs effectively.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its services, facilitating seamless integration of Apigee with cloud infrastructure.
- Proficient in cloud infrastructure and networking concepts, enabling efficient deployment and management of APIs in cloud environments.
- Experience with edge products like Cloudflare to enhance API performance, security, and reliability at the edge of the network.
- Demonstrated expertise in deploying and maintaining APIs for enterprise products, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Familiarity with blue/green deployment is must.
- In-depth knowledge of common API patterns such as authentication, caching, error handling, aggregation, and request/response manipulation to design robust and efficient APIs.
