**An exciting opportunity is available for a Social Worker seeking a career in Forensic Mental Health. **The Forensic Hospital currently has a Temporary part time position available, for a highly skilled and dynamic Social Worker, working 24 hours per week up to 30 June 2023, who has a commitment to patient centred care and clinical excellence.

**About The Forensic Hospital, Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network**
- The Forensic Hospital is a high-secure forensic mental health facility in New South Wales, operated by Justice Health NSW. This facility provides specialist, therapeutic inpatient care for adults and adolescent forensic, correctional and high-risk civil patients._

**What you'll be doing**

The primary focus of this position is to provide a comprehensive evidenced informed social work service to patients and their family/carers. This includes the provision of psychosocial assessments, counselling/family work/ therapy and advocacy to ensure optimal social outcomes. The service includes individual, family, group work and program development. The social work is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team.

**How to Apply**

To be considered for this position, please ensure to address the selection criteria below:

- A degree in Social Work, or other qualification approved for membership of Australian Association of Social Work
- Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention, assessment, counselling and discharge planning in an acute and / or long term mental health setting
- Demonstrated ability to provide therapeutic interventions for individuals/groups and families and a commitment to evidence based practice in a mental health setting
- Demonstrated capacity to build professional and therapeutic relationships with acutely unwell patients with a mental illness and / or disability
- Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver and evaluate effective and efficient social work services relevant to a mental health setting
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team in a mental health setting
- Experience in the facilitation of therapeutic educational programs and group work
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and written communication skills including competent computer literacy
