**About the Role**

We are currently seeking to appoint a Linux System Administrator as the System Administrator you are responsible for complex activities and tasks relating to design, development, integration, configuration, hardening, and documentation of Infrastructure Systems.

**Key accountabilities**
- Conduct VMWare, Linux systems administration including Operating System installation, configuration, integration, hardening, performing OS upgrades, software and patch management and relevant documentation.
- Development and implementation of technical solutions (Linux OS Implementations, Upgrades, Migrations and Decommission) and support with ongoing projects.
- Automation and Scripting skills, implement and manage storage, ability to perform server password recovery.
- Monitor and manage system capacity and usage.
- Identify and analyse system issues and work in close coordination with relevant stakeholders to recommend and implement remediation actions.
- Create and maintain system documentation and work with the vendor IT staff**.**:

- Identify any configuration discrepancies, assess security risks, and implement solutions in accordance with security standards.
- Manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issue management to meet organisational objectives.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of relevant issues, insights, challenges, industry trends and practices and opportunities to identify, pursue, evaluate, recommend, and deliver innovative solutions that optimise outcomes and contribute to a best practice business function in line with organisational and government priorities.

**About You**
- Experience with virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong Knowledge and Hands-on experience on Technical Planning, Linux OS deployment methods, upgrades, and migrations.
- Have proven ability to operate in complex heterogeneous IT landscapes across an Enterprise.
- Demonstrable presentation and client facing skills.
- Be analytical, results-driven and have a solution-oriented approach
- Prior experience involving client/customer interaction required
