**About the FASD Service**

The FASD service, through Developmental Paediatrics, provides specialist multidisciplinary assessments for children with prenatal alcohol exposure, who show complex neurological, developmental, and behavioural symptoms. The service also delivers education, information and resources to communities at high risk of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and provides clinical training in FASD diagnosis for paediatricians, psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and social workers.

**About The Role**

There is an opportunity for an experienced Research Assistant to join the FASD team at Monash Children’s Hospital, supporting children with prenatal alcohol exposure and broader neurodevelopmental problems. The Research Assistant will effectively and efficiently manage data relating to the research studies actioned within the FASD Service. This includes data entry, maintaining research databases (within REDCap) and assisting the VicFAS Clinical Coordinator, as required.

**About You**

You have a high level of attention to detail, multitasking and prioritisation skills, communication skills, and an advanced level of empathy for both fellow colleagues and our patient population. You are motivated with a can-do attitude and strong work ethic. You enjoy working in a busy and fast paced environment.

This role is based at Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton, Victoria, and is a fixed term (until June 2024), part time position (7.6 hrs per fortnight).

**What You Need**
- Demonstrated skills and experience in research ethics, methods, analytics, program evaluation and project management
- Research experience as evidenced by quality peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations
- High level communication skills along with the ability to write and publish findings
- Demonstrated experience as indicated in position description
- Australian working rights
