Maintenance/handyperson

Quality Hotel Robertson Gardens is currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance/Handyperson.

The role will include general DIY and building and yard maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, plastering & painting and gardening.

**Day to day responsibilities**:

- Installations, inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, replacement, repair and maintenance of building, fixtures and fittings
- Basic plumbing including unblocking toilets, inspecting cisterns, replacing shower heads
- Basic carpentry such as hanging doors, new locks, architraves, door steps, assembling furniture, replacing handles and similar hardware.
- General painting & plastering
- Basic garden maintenance
- Basic electrical maintenance
- Liaising with Reception and housekeeping, performing jobs as and when they are required
- Carry out planned tasks in accordance with contract/agreed requirements within agreed time limits
- Adhere to current legislation and WH&S policies
- Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work
- Report to your Direct Manager
- Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation to your Direct Manager
- Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures
- Carry out all preventative maintenance programs and assist with all scheduled repairs
- Respond promptly to all calls for assistance and communicate actions taken
- Maintain neat and presentable self-appearance in accordance with the hotel’s grooming standards
- Maintain harmonious working relationships with other staff members
- Keep a clean and safe working environment

**About you**:

- Previous Handyman experience essential
- Friendly and approachable
- Understand and deliver good customer service
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrate good time management and project management skills
- Have current drivers license. Beneficial if also have LR and Drivers Authority as well
- Physically able and fit
- Ability to lift/carry heavy items following proper WH&S guidelines
- Able to use hand and power tools

**Salary**: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
