As a Disability Support Worker (DSW) trainee, you will be part of a team that delivers compassionate care to people with intellectual disabilities. Whether it's providing companionship, helping with daily tasks, or supporting personal growth, you'll be creating the smiles that make a difference.
**How can you contribute?**:
As a School-based DSW trainee, you'll engage in person-centred support, planning and participating in activities, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. All while completing your SACE. You will also:
- Adapt your approach to meet participant needs and preferences
- Encourage clients to make their own choices and decisions
- Collaborate with your team to ensure a consistent approach to service delivery
- Assist with personal care, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
**Qualifications and attributes**:
**To join us, you'll need the following**:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Right to work documents (Visa, Citizenship Certificate, Passport, Birth Certificate)
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
**We're looking for trainees who are**:
- Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic
- Flexible and adaptable (available to work three days a week during the traineeship)
- Eager to learn and contribute to a supportive team
- Passionate about caring for others
- Can commit to a minimum of 7.5 hours per week
- Enrolled in year 11 or 12
Experience in disability support is not required, but we seek trainees who show compassion and align with our values.
